tue 6pm pranayama & meditation in whittle: 4 week course

4 Week Pranayama & Meditation Group

Tuesday 6-7.15pm @ Feel Now Yoga HQ (my house), Whittle-le-Woods, PR6 7LJ

Course Dates: 05 Nov, 12 Nov, 19 Nov & 26 Nov 2019

New course starts in January 2020.

Course description: Meditation invites us to turn our attention inward so that we can find the peaceful stillness within us which is the truth of who we really are.

All too often we keep things to ourselves. This group provides a safe space within which you are invited to express yourself freely without worrying about what others think.

How we do this will depend on what you feel comfortable with.  We will draw upon various meditation & rumination techniques, including Satsang (truth discussion), Atma Vichara (self enquiry), Pranayama (breathing practices), Visualisation, & possibly Mantra, if everyone is comfortable with that.

There will be a focus on using Pranayama, breathing practices, to prepare us for a deeper silent meditation experience.

This meditation course is suitable for everyone including complete beginners & regular meditators.  To get the most out of this course, it is more important to have a desire for self enquiry & a curiosity about your inner world, than previous experience.

Suitable for anyone wanting to go deeper into their experience of themselves & share some supportive human intimacy.

Have you heard of telomeres? Telomeres are DNA end caps. The length of your telomeres are the most studied indicators of biological ageing. The longer your telomeres, the longer you are likely to live. Apparently, the best thing for improving the length & robustness of your telomeres is meditation, according to Dr Jeff Grimm. There are so many studies out there about meditation & telomeres now that 2 meta analyses of that data is available. In summary, 20 mins of meditation a day for 4 months has been found to improve telomere length. You don't have to believe me or Jeff! You can look up the evidence for this yourself.
