Often we find ourselves in competition with others as the culture around us seems geared to drive us to do more and more, faster and faster. Sometimes this ethos unintentionally spills over into our yoga posture practice.  

Hardly surprising since asana is often presented to us as control of the body, pranayama as control of the breath & meditation as control of the mind.

Nevertheless in his very first sutra, Patanjali hinted that Yoga is "happening now”, and not just another goal to strive for & achieve in the future. Asana is an awareness state of stable comfort that releases the body from tension; pranayama is the means of releasing the breath from its habituated tendencies to liberate the mind into it’s natural meditative quality.

These sessions honour the inherent intelligence and integrity of body, breath and mind. By honouring and releasing, rather than controlling or imposing, our deepest nature reveals itself; allowing us to ease into an intimate, nourishing and deeply rewarding relationship with the self and life.
