Now Be Love

A CPD weekend with Godfrey Devereux

Godfrey Devereux, founder of the Dynamic Yoga Method, and master teacher will be visiting Lancashire this October offering a Friday evening Tantric Meditation, a Saturday of yoga posture practice & pranayama, and A Sunday of somatic meditation & pranayam.

Venue: Whittle-le-Woods Village Hall, PR6 7LN

Unintimidated by the ideologies and hierarchies of tradition, Godfri has been able to cast clear light not only on the subtleties of yoga practice, but also on the nature of the body-mind 'relationship' and the significance of human consciousness. This has allowed him to firmly establish yoga practice and theory in the wisdom of life itself, while grounding its expression in the language of everyday life.

These sessions can be taken separately or enjoyed as a full weekend of deepening awareness; in which you will be expertly and sensitively guided to reunite with, and immerse in, the love that you are.

No matter your age, experience, flexibility or strength, Godfrey's teaching allows you to access and enjoy the eight limbs (ashtanga) of classical yoga practice by flowing intelligently from movement into deep stillness, and the meditative mind (citta vrtti nirodha) explored in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Friday 28th September 7.30-9.30pm: Tantric Meditation £18

The heart of Tantra is not sex but meditation. Nevertheless the deep power of sexual energy must be integrated consciously if it is not to lead to problems obvious and subtle. This session will explore the healing, nourishing and liberating possibilities presented by awakening sexual energy within the context of meditation.  Suitable for anyone interested in being alive.

Saturday 29th September 10-5pm: Yoga Posture Practice & Pranayama £60

10-1pm: THE POWER OF MOVEMENT: The mobile nature of the human body, and the restless nature of the mind, can be harnessed and integrated by movement. This requires a comprehensive and conscious recalibration of the motor and structural muscles. This workshop will present the dynamic flow from Xandranamaskar to Suryanamaskar as the progressive and balanced means for sensitising, awakening and integrating the bodimind, and the basis of a safe and satisfying practice.

2-5pm: ACTIVE PRANAYAMA: The core muscles of the human body, those of the spine and those that support it,  are most easily accessed by way of the breath. Yet their resilience and availability is required of safe and effective yoga posture practice. This workshop will present two active pranayama techniques that strengthen the core structural muscles so that integrity in yoga posture practice becomes a genuine possibility. Suitable for anyone.

Sunday 30th September 10-5pm: Pranayama & Meditation £60

10-1pm: THE POWER OF STILLNESS: The paradox and power of yoga lies in the liberating possibilities of voluntary constraint: coming willingly to stillness. Yet stillness is not only contrary to the habits of both body and mind, but also even to their nature. The spiritual possibilities of stillness in revealing the depths and subtleties of human nature and consciousness must be specifically and adequately prepared for: a preparation of both body and mind. This workshop will present an intelligent vinyasakrama (step by step preparation) for accessing the deep intelligence of consciousness by way of stillness in yoga postures.

2-5pm: PASSIVE PRANAYAMA: Deep release, deep freedom are not possible while the breath remain subject to the power of habit and intention, however unconscious.  Classical Pranayama is the art of deep release into genuine freedom through intimacy with the breath. This workshop will focus on releasing the breath from all effort, intention and habit, so that mind also can let go of its need to control into its deeper ability to enjoy. Suitable for anyone.
