September 2025 - December 2026
NEW! 300 hour Course Online & In Person near Brampton & Carlisle, Cumbria.
The Course
Our 11th 300 hour course will consist of 6 in person & 6 online weekends supported by 10 monthly online Friday night 6-8pm workshops with YTT Yoga Elder Debbie Farrar and Special Guest Teachers, Peter Blackaby & Daniel Gelblum.
Feel Now Yoga Teacher Training is an integrated course that weaves the theory, anatomy & philosophy into our yoga practice to bring you a course that is deep without being academic; practical without just being exercise; & thorough without being too long.
Feel Now Yoga invites each individual to listen to their own body & trust its inherent wisdom as they refine their personal practice & develop their own teaching style. To honour this, we provide you with the opportunity to deepen your own experience & understanding of how Yoga works, so that you can help others access its full potential.
We have a maximum of 12 students per course so we can ensure each student receives the support they need. Our aim is that by the end of your 300 hour, 15 month training you will be able to teach your own style of yoga from a confident place of embodied understanding.

The Yoga
Feel Now Yoga is Somatic Yoga. We teach you the philosophical principles of yoga so that you can apply them to any style of yoga, or use them to develop your own yoga teaching style. Working with the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita, we will cultivate balancing stability with ease, and skill in action to uncover a yoga practice that is soothing for the nervous system and honours the inner felt sense of the individual.
All forms of yoga can be taught somatically, so the principles you will learn on this course will enable you to teach any style of yoga safely, skilfully and somatically. We collaborate with some of the best yoga teacher trainers in the country, from different styles of yoga, to bring you a well rounded course, that honours your inner felt sense.
Our Tutors
Course Director Debbie Farrar is a lifelong yogin with over 40 years of dedicated personal yoga practice & research, 26 years yoga teaching, 8 years teaching secondary school science, and extensive professional experience of supporting the educational and yogic journey of people with a variety of different learning needs. So our course walks the lines between experience & education; science & art to bring you a balanced & somatic Yoga Teacher Training.
Debbie is an education professional, an ex secondary school science teacher, currently working part time as Education Co-ordinator for a national charity, where she designs and delivers bespoke education packages for young adults with learning difficulties and autism. Debbie has a trainee centred approach, so even if you have been out of education for a while, you will be supported throughout the course.
Guest Tutors
Peter Blackaby is a long time Feel Now Yoga collaborator and author of Intelligent Yoga, Pete Blackaby is joining us to deliver an online weekend of applied anatomy, movement science and neuroscience. Peter will be delivering an applied anatomy day called Theories of Movement, and a day looking at the mechanisms of pain and how we can work with it and reduce it with our yoga posture practice.
Peter has taught on every Feel Now Yoga training until Covid so we are delighted to welcome him back now that we are settling into our new village in Cumbria, a bit far for him to come up from his native Brighton, but we are so pleased he can join us online for a weekend in September 2026. Peter will bring anatomy to life and help us understand why we do the things that we do the way we do them here at Feel Now Yoga.
Daniel Gelblum is another long term Feel Now Yoga friend who we have not seen since we were in Lancashire. Daniel is a Feldenkrais teacher and a yoga teacher who shares his time between London and Nepal. We are not sure where he will be joining us from, but we will see him online on 17th May 2026. Dan will be teaching a day of Feldenkrais, a somatic movement practice developed by Moshe Feldenkrais. Dan’s Dad, Dr. Tuvia Gelblum, was a professor of Yoga Philosophy and Sanskrit at SOAS, who studied with Feldenkrais in Israel, so Dan was brought up with both disciplines, and it shows.
Feldenkrais is more yoga than yoga. At least it is under the expert guidance of Dan Gelblum. Dan uses Feldenkrais to teach better movement to a range of clients from people with impaired mobility to Yoga teachers. Regulars report increased vitality, coordination, ease of mobility, overall improved well-being, and more ease in yoga posture practice.
Ross Dixon is Debbie’s partner who completed the first course Debbie ran whilst finishing his 2 year apprenticeship with Debbie. Ross’s movement practice started off with martial arts and swimming; he turned to yoga after a knee injury and collapsed lung forced him to reevaluate what he wanted from a movement practice. Ross is a philosophy graduate, who very much brings his own style of functional fitness to his yoga teaching.
Ross will be supporting Debbie throughout the course and will be teaching sessions on the evolution of human movement and the pillars of human movement, and showing us how to integrate them into our yoga classes.
Our Graduates
Debbie has trained over 100 Yoga Teachers who are now teaching yoga in schools, universities, physiotherapist clinics, hospitals, prisons, as part of their psychology practice, in social prescribing schemes, leisure centres and yoga studios. Some are teaching entirely online, some entirely in person. Many deliver specialist classes in areas they chose to research on their training course.
Our Trainees
Many yogis come to this course as a further training to bolt on to their existing 200 hour qualification, deepening their understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy and refining their teaching skills.
Some join us for their own personal development as they want to refine their practice and this course is also suitable for dedicated first time yoga teacher trainees. Although our final weekend together is in November 2026, and our final Friday session is in December, 2026 you have until 31 January 2027 to complete your 3000 word research project, and you will be given as much guidance as you require.
Even though the course does not finish until the end of 2026, you will be able to start teaching much sooner. Once you have passed your first internal teaching assessment in March 2026, you can register with Yoga Teachers Together as a student teacher and get your student teacher insurance, which will enable you to start teaching your own classes. This means you will still be supported in your teaching development for the first 9 months of your new yoga teaching career. This is the time when most people need the most support, so its really helpful to still have the support of us, and your peer group at this time.
Ongoing Support
Debbie is committed to giving appropriate support to her Teacher Trainees, during the course, and beyond. You will not be dropped as soon as the course finishes. You will be a part of a rich and supportive community of Feel Now Yoga Teachers across the UK who gather regularly and support each other. We have a Teachers’ Retreat each year, and an online space where you can ask questions about anything, share new developments in yoga teaching, and find cover for your classes. Debbie is in these groups, and always only an email away.
“Aw, that’s wonderful! Thanks Debbie, I don’t know where I would be without you! I’m so pleased I found you all those years ago. I’m so much happier having a therapeutic yoga practice in my life. If I had to do it all again, I would definitely choose you as my Teacher, you have been amazing. Your always there to answer my questions or point me in the right direction. Lots of love” (DS, 24/6/23)
Accreditation
Debbie is a Yoga Elder with Yoga Teachers Together CIC, and this course is registered with YTT. YTT registration gives our graduate teachers a supportive community to join when they finish their course. YTT Yoga Elders provide 4 free online CPD trainings a year for their members and opportunities to gather with other yoga teachers online and at yoga days and weekends throughout the UK. For more information about YTT see: https://yogateacherstogether.org/
The Venue
For our 11th course we are keeping it local and holding the 6 in person weekends of our Teacher Training in our own village of Hallbankgate. I can’t quite believe I have lived here for 4 years now and hadn’t been inside Hallbankgate Village Hall until recently! It’s a beautiful historic building that is run as a charity and it feels so good to support it with our course. The postcode is CA8 2NJ.
For the in person weekends of the course, our village hall is opposite the amazing Hallbankgate Hub, known by some of the locals as ‘the Hippy Shop’. Yup, there’s a reason why we live in this village! The Hub is our local co-operative; a social enterprise run by volunteers. As well as selling hippy food which is handy when you are gluten and dairy free, The Hub has a small cafe where we can get great coffee at lunchtime. There is also accommodation available next door to the village hall at The Belted Will, where Alyson will give you a warm welcome and we can enjoy a hearty meal on Saturday evening. Or if you want luxury, Farlam Hall is a only a short walk or drive away.
We are blessed to have Geltsdale RSPB reserve at the back of our village, so after we have fuelled up with Hub coffee, we can have a walk to one of our nearby Tarns, bird hides or fells. We have a mini Lake District at our doorstep, only not as busy. Our in person weekends are all in the warmer months, so the right time of year to enjoy some outdoor time.
For those of you relying on public transport, there is a train station at Brampton Junction, 2 miles away, or Carlisle, a 20 minute taxi ride away. We can usually pick people up from either station no problem.

Sue’s Yoga Teacher Training Poem (December 2020)
The basis, the principles, that’s where it’s at.
Aiming for shapes? I’m not sure about that.
Slow, smooth, release and oil.
Appropriate support, no need for toil.
Back off, explore, or just let it be.
Don’t collapse and hurt, trying to be free.
Obvious to subtle, muscles big to the small.
Push through your feet, for space, to be tall.
Make your limbs work, to support your spine.
Maintain through the movement and you’ll be fine.
Quality not quantity, ease to breathe.
Let the ribs move, for the lungs underneath.
Neuromuscular pathways we need to improve.
Calm in the system, ready to move.
Ground, lengthen, and broaden what you can.
Sometimes, now-and-then, feel like Wonder Woman :)
2021-2022 BLENDED ONLINE / IN PERSON COURSE:
I feel it’s a privilege I found you. It was my Sankalpa. I kept asking in Nidra and I got the right course. Was it the right question? Who knows but the course has helped me on so many levels. It’s more than the asanas. It’s life changing. I am myself again, relaxed and full of beans. My confidence is back.
The classes I am teaching are helping my fellow village ladies.I have only taught two classes and the amount of emails about better sleep and feeling calmer make it all worthwhile. Just so nice to get them moving, relaxing and into yoga. Breathing properly! (JM 15/8/22)
2019-2020 BLENDED ONLINE / IN PERSON COURSE:
Final assessment and project completed in Nov... last bits and bobs completed in Dec. SOOoooo I can now say after 16 months of continuous study ... I am a fully qualified Yoga Teacher! Thank you Debbie Farrar for your continuing support, teaching and all round general fabulousness during COVID times...always finding new and valid ways to continue our yoga journey.
I have loved every minute of the course and so glad I chose you as my teacher.. the best decision. I still feel a complete novice but a novice with the best grounding possible. My plan is to attend as many of your Friday night immersions..very exciting..so much still to learn and so you haven't got rid of me yet! (SW 3/1/21)
2018-2019 IN PERSON COURSE:
After attending my first weekend on the yoga teacher training with Debbie, I knew I had picked the right course for me.
The conversations from this first weekend were profound; we talked about yoga (obviously) but there was no much more to the discussions which touched upon politics, capitalism, consumerism, feminism, psychology, and link between mind and body. Debbie is clearly a very intelligent person who draws upon a number of modalities to support her thinking. This is however, delivered in a way that is both accessible and engaging – a perfect combination.
I took so much from the Feel Now Yoga teacher training and I put this down to the well thought out timetable and contents. I certainly do not think I would have achieved the same level of insight and confidence from a shorter teacher training course.
As a psychologist I went into training with a specific agenda of developing tools to enhance my clinical practice but the well roundedness of the course helped me massively in a personal capacity as well as professionally.
I am excited about my continuing yoga journey and would like to thank Debbie and Ross for their input, compassion and valuable feedback which comprises this incredible teacher training course. Thank you! (HH 23/4/20)
Hi debbie. Thank you ever so much for facilitating that course for us. It must not have been easy. Thank you for your capacity for understanding and guidance for healing. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. It has brought me a lot of healing. It’s something I hope to be able to provide for people in the future. (RN 14/12/2020)
